Musings

Last week I hung out with JLT , Baby NAT, and CDH. Baby NAT is so pretty. It's kind of surreal to be around friends who are starting families. I'm still timid around babies. They just seem so fragile to me. I had no reservations about getting married but for some reason having children at this time is a bit scary to me. My assumption is that when you're ready you just know.

I also went out to dim-sum last week with some other friends. It was great to see everyone sitting together in one table. I was somewhat surprised to realize that people don't hang out with each other as much as before. It's true that people are always "busy" but I think as we get older, it's not uncommon for many us to just be more focused on our "own thing."

My trip to the EA last week went well. Due to a reporting error on my part, I did owe money but not as much as the IRS indicated that I owed (sigh of relief).

Audited

So I got audited by the IRS for my 2004 filing. Bummer. I'm CPA / EA hunting now.

Keane - Under the Iron Sea Bonus DVD

I remember back in high school and college I'd frequent record stores and collect domestic or import singles/albums from bands like U2, New Order, DM, OMD, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys. There was immense satisfaction in finding esoteric B-sides, remixes and bootlegs. I don't collect so much anymore but Keane's Under the Iron Sea bonus DVD is a pretty nice find. The demo tracks are interesting but probably only for the die-hards. The disc also has "The Iron Sea" as a standalone track vs the standard CD where it is appended to "Put it Behind You."
The live tracks of "Nothing in My Way," " Hamburg Song, " and "Try Again" on the other hand are the real jewels...a must listen if you are a Keane fan. I also forgot to mention how much I love the cover artwork and even the lettering font of the standard CD release.
